Our children will be returning to school very soon. They have endured the past few months with uncertainty and concern. Will their family get sick? Will they be able to see grandparents again? How much longer will they have to stay home? Will mom or dad be able to go back to work? Will they be homeless? Will they be able to go outside?
Housing, food, and employment are adult concerns. Adults are responsible to provide for their family. School, homework, friends and playing are concerns for children. Our children may not be able to express how they feel right now. They are being patient but filled with concern for their future. Every time new orders are given to delay re-opening, the children pick up on the frustrations and concerns that accompany.
Providing school supplies and backpacks is very important. Children will return to school; they need supplies. By making this effort, we are telling these children that we see them, we see their struggles, and we want them to know there is hope and their future is bright.
Please spread the word and help us gather lots of supplies for the children in our community.
Go for a walk. Adhere to the rules of social distancing. There are some occasions when the prayer should be demonstrative, but usually, it’s being on the scene without making one. Though they usually walk unnoticed, prayerwalkers quickly become aware of the realities and needs of their neighbors.
